Team Medscheme’s excursion to Dubai in the UAE for the Vice Presidents Cup and the Emirates Cup races has resulted in the team’s first international win and podium finish.

Team Medscheme’s objective was to perform well but they exceeded all expectations by winning the Emirates Cup and placing second in the Vice Presidents Cup.

“Both races are categorized as 1.2 class races and were well represented by riders from all over the world: Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. We are thrilled with the results and to have had the opportunity to race internationally,” comments Team Medscheme’s Malcolm Lange.

“The Vice Presidents Cup race was over a 14km circuit. The wind played a factor and it was a challenge to overcome it. The Emirates Cup took place in Abu Dhabi where the race conditions were also windy, but with a flatter circuit,” says Lange.

“We are excited with our results and will be heading to training camp tomorrow where we will prepare for a cycling season of note. Our next race will be this Saturday at Berge en Dale,” concludes Lange.
